It’s particularly true in software games and the people that have been playing for years longer than you are certain to know more about it – so when I started I read a WOW book. The problem is though this was a nicely bound players guide full of maps and tables that wasn’t exactly what I required. I mean who reads tables with skill levels, damage proportions and all that stuff – the tables were so tiny I could hardly read them anyway.

My world of warcraft book was very very similar to the Dungeon gurus guide I have for playing DD that is’s packed full of useful tables as well – can’t believe I used to work out the proportionate damage from a fall and multiply it by a dice roll. No what you need with World of Warcraft is down to earth advice – practical things that make the game more fun that is’s why I always buy the unlicensed guides penned by people who are actively wasting their lives in Warcraft right now and explain it by making some kind of guide. The irony here is that a number of these writers make a good sum out of these WoW gold guides. But hey good luck to them.

An example of one of the tips from a guide I read recently was extremely simple but effectively saved me hours – rather than me rushing forwards and backwards from the auction house with my backpack full of goodies to dump simply create an alternative personality and leave them handily located near an Auction House and a mailbox. You can then just mail your goodies back for your alt to offload at the auction house – I mean how incredibly easy is that and yet it saves loads of time !

Why I didn’t consider it is perhaps why I will never write a World of Warcraft Book although I’d be more suitable to the purposeless table type of publication. This article will give you an overview of making all the gold you need without cheats or having to buy it. Using a World of Warcraft gold guide can make this a lot smoother as gathering gold can also mean you level a little slower.

Its essential to have gold in WoW for many of the things will need to buy such as a mount or gear and training. Should you use gathering professions such as mining to make gold right from the beginning? That’s what some will advise you to do. You could follow this advice and do pretty well but I recommend you consider taking the following three step approach first.

Step 1: 1 Level 80 Character

Initially, focus on getting at least one level 80 character. Gold isn’t absolutely necessary to level a character to 80, besides your gear is going to be changing along the way. The questing that you’ll be doing to level will also provide you with the gold you will need to buy your mount. Following the right leveling approach could earn you 8000g just doing quests.

Step 2: Farming for Gold

In this step a gathering profession will be good to have such as Mining or Herbalism.

At this point it’s critical to know the right farming zones. That’s because certain farming locations are suited better for one class or profession than another.

Step 3: Auction House

Note: make sure that you check out the Auction house to see what items the other players need.

These are the World Of Warcraft professions that make gold at a quicker pace for me, mining, skinning, herbalism and last but not least, fishing.

Starting with fishing.

WoW fishing can be quite boring some times but it can also be extremely lucrative if you find a black or golden pearl. You might need to open up plenty pearls before you find a black or golden pearl but it will be worth it.10 black pearls is worth 10g and 1 gold pearl is worth 30g.Pearls are sourced near high water areas such as Ferelas, close to Feathermoon. So fishing can be of great advantage to making gold especially at the higher skill levels.Make sure to get the best rod you can afford and lure as well to max your fishing skill faster.

Moving on to Skinning

Make sure that skinning items don’t stack so well so try and buy bigger bags as soon as you can afford to.Blacksmiths, leatherworkers and tailors need skinning items so you can make gold off them.A clever way to gather items for skinning is just locate the positions in the quests where the people need to kill a plenty of monsters.You can then gather all the skinning items you need from the corpses after the fighting.Nesingwary’s expedition north of Stranglethorn Vale will be a good place to get hold of some panthers, tigers, and raptors to skin. Looking for some devilsaurs and maybe gorillas? Head on over to Un’goro.

Looking for Warbear & Rugged leather? These are from skinning Shardtooths in Winterspring- When you level up a bit higher.While you are skinning make sure to gather all the loot and leather as well as this can bring in round 40g per hour.Stack the warbear and rugged leather and sell them in the AH for some good gold.

Next mining

Mining items are always needed by engineers and blacksmiths.Need iron and mithril? Head on over to Arathi Highlands. When you are there look for the Drywhisker cave nearby Hammerfall to mine lesser bloodstone that sells well in AH.Another cave but this time in the Wetlands north of Dun Algaz bears Incedicite ore which also sells well.

Head on over to Tanaris, Blasted Lands ,Searing Gorge & the Charred Vale for some of the greatest places for Truesilver & Mithril.Thorium must not be overlooked, as it is one of the best money makers as you can get around 10g per stack.While in the Thorium veins be on the lookout for Arcane Crystals as these sell for 12-15g a piece.. Position of these veins are in the following places Un’goro , Eastern Plaguelands , Winterspring or the Burning Steppes.The crystals and Thorium should get you up to round 50g per hour.

Next we have herbalism

You do not have to be an Alchemist for this herbalism strategy.Your target market may be smaller as you will only be focusing on selling to the Alchemists.Plagueblooms is a good herb to start with. Gather these in the eastern and western Plaguelands. If the Plaguelands are too busy then go over to Felwood.If you decide to go to Felwood, lookout for herbs such as Gromsblood and Dreamfoil to get you 12g per stack.Ghost Mushrooms are the next worthwhile option to gather. They can sell for around 20-25gold in the AH.

With these tips there is now no excuse not make some good gold in WoW.
