Grinding is a great way to farm gold, items and reputation. If you want to know, how to use your mage to grind as fast as possible, this mage grinding guide is the right place to start.

But first of all, I want to throw in one quick advice: Notice how I didn’t say that grinding is good for farming exp? That’s because I don’t recommend grinding if you want to level your character. In that aspect, questing is much more efficient.

Mage Grinding Talent Build: The Frost Spec

There are two ways to grind – one way is killing one mob after another. The better way is to kill off 10 or more mobs at the same time!

Sounds interesting? Then I recommend you to get yourself a frost talent build ASAP. It’s the one and only mage build to take on hordes of mobs simultaneous.

Frost builds focus on immobilizing your targets to nuke them down with area of effect spells. I recommend you to aim for a pure frost build (0/0/71) to get the most out of it.

And then you will want to enhance your skills with the matching Glyphs!

Now, the next step is to look at the grinding strategy: As I’ve said, grinding with the frost spec is all about using area of effect spells like Blizzard, Frost Nova and Cone of Cold to kill as many mobs simultaneous as possible.

You have to pull them, gather them on one spot and hit them all at once with the power of your spells.

This way you can definitely farm items, gold and reputation much faster than before. If you want to get to level 80 ASAP, questing is much faster and much more fun.

But here’s a trick: You can simply use the strategy given in my mage grinding guide to farm quest mobs – and complete every quest that involves killing quest mobs really fast!
