Mage – Damage, Crowd Control and Magic

A Mage is a great damage dealer who uses mana for his spells. Mages have different types of spells and abilities they use to deal as much possible damage, like Arcane missiles, Frost Bolt and Fire Bolt.

The Mage class can be chosen by the Gnome, Draenei and Human races of the Alliance and by the Troll, Undead and Blood Elf races of the Horde. The Mage class is a very nice and playful class and is always welcomed in PvP arena teams and in raid/instance groups. He has a few buffs he can cast and the most popular one is definitely the Arcane Brilliance popularly called the Intelect Buff. However, this buff isn’t the only thing that made Mages popular class. They can also create consumables for themselves and others which otherwise have to be bought from vendors. These special ‘consumables a Mage can make will restore one’s hp and mana and are always a need. It is also nice to have Mages in the group because they can Polymorph Humanoids and Beasts. Even though, today, the fights in WoW have become much easier (tank ‘n spank), Crowd Control is still nice and useful.

With all these useful abilities and buffs Mages have at hand, they have become one of the ultimate classes in WoW when it comes to popularity but still, what makes them good is their abilities to deal damage. Mage’s spells are based on Frost, Fire and Arcane types of damage. A Mage also has AoE spells like Blizzard, Arcane Explosion, Flame Strike, Cone of Cold, etc. which deal a lot of damage to multiple targets. The first talent tree you will come across with a Mage is the Arcane tree which nowadays, with some improvements, became more popular. For More on Gold leveling: Gold Secrets Introduction.

In the past Mages weren’t so fond of using this talent build and Arcane was usually combined with either a Fire or Frost tree. With quite a few damaging spells taken up in the tree and a lot of talents that increase the critical strike rating of the Mage, Fire is definitely a great choice for Mages that just want to get the most damage out of their Mage. When we talk about Mages who are aiming for pure dps, then we are talking about the Fire talent build. This talent tree will offer offensive damage abilities and spells to a Mage as well as an increased crit strike rating which all together would give your mage an astonishing damage output.

If you prefer PvP to PvE, then you should become a Frost mage. The Frost talent build has many AoE spells in store for you, as well as the Crowd Control spells and even a protective shield!. By using Frost spells you would also be able to summon a special kind of companion – the Water Elemental that will help you in any fight, either PvP or PvE. If you follow the talent build you will find out that the tree can provide you with burst damage and yet give you protective shield and slow your targets a lot.

In time, by changing and combining all of the three talent builds you will surely find the perfect build to suit your character and you will become one of the best damage dealers in PvP and PvE.
