Farmville Animal Guide

There are two main groups of animals in farmville: Livestock which can be obtained at the Market for coins or Farmville cash, and Lost Animals which will show up on your farm once in a while .  One wonderful thing about animal crops is that they do not rot like plant ones.  As soon as an animal is ready to be harvested, it will just wait for you to log in once more and harvest it.  Animals are trouble-free and effortless to handle.  It is a good method of making money while enjoying some assortment on your farm.

Livestock

The livestock you can now get at the Market are pretty limited.  The livestock which you can purchase at the Market are dairy cows, white (regular) sheep and pigs.  New animals appear for a certain time on special events and holidays. During the “Alien Invasion”, green cows called BOV1NE-09 (now called Alien Cow) showed up in the Market for 2400 coins.   A crop named “milktonium” which sells for 18 coins can be harvested from the green cows. American Thanksgiving brought the “Baby Turkey”–when harvested for the initial time, it will morph into a full-grown, adult Turkey.   The grown Turkey can then be harvested for feathers once every 2 days at 80 coins per harvest.  You can get more fascinating livestock as free gifts from your friends, although the old standbys are available there as well.

Note that the harvest times are different for every animal.  You can harvest several animals every day whilst other animals call for two, three or as many as 4 days.

Lost Animals

Farmville has an amusing feature which needs you to keep an eye on Facebook status updates to see whether your friends have come across any “lost animals”.  the lost animals will occasionally show up on your farm and ask for your help.  For instance, to commemorate American Thanksgiving, the creators of Farmville introduced a new “lost animal”– the Wild Turkey.

The following caption will be seen upon the arrival of the Wild Turkey on your farm:

(Your name) discovered this frightened bird in Farmville. This time of year is tough for her and her kind. Hopefully she can find comfort and safety on a friendly farm. ..

The other “lost animals” in Farmville are:

*Ugly Duckling (turns into a swan)

*Brown Cow (gives chocolate milk)

*Pink Cow (gives strawberry milk )

*Black Cat (makes yarn )

*Turtle (makes eggs)

*Black Sheep (produces chocolate wool)

*Regular cows also wander but they are available through the Market and as free gifts

These lost animals cannot be adopted by you.  You can post a status update on your Facebook that you have found a lost animal.   This is the ideal time to use your other (if you have another one) Facebook account!

Place your animal up for adoption, then log out.  Log in on your other account and quickly adopt the lost animal or your friends might adopt it before you do!  So keep in mind what I stated before, frequently look at your friends’ status updates so that you can adopt their lost animals.

Think about buying a Dairy Barn or a Chicken Coop if you’re acquiring a lot of cows and/or chickens.

Each building has space for 20 cows or chickens and provides a suitable way to keep them, as well as harvesting them all at once.

You can acquire a Mystery Egg when you purchase a Chicken Coop.  visit Farmville Buildings to learn more.
