Beatles Rock Band Game Is Great For Improving Singing
If you’re like me then you probably don’t care about video games. Personally, I’m not into them at all. I think of them as a total waste of time. So why am I spending my time writing about a video game? Because in my opinion The Beatles Rock Band Game is more than just a video game, it is a real interactive musical experience.
I am not talking about the guitar thing. In fact, in my opinion that part of Rock Band is really lame because it has nothing to do with playing a real guitar and little to do with the music. It has zilch to do with playing guitar because playing real guitar is about one hundred times harder than simply pressing a few buttons and it has very little to do with the music because I have found that the colors rarely change at the same time as any musical changes in the songs.
So what am I talking about? The singing and the drumming. These aspects are directly related to doing these things “in real life.”
If you sing in key and with the right timing then you’ll do well. No you don’t have to sing the real lyrics (you can simply hum the melody if you want to) but so what? Musically what is important is hitting the right notes at the right time. I think The Beatles Rock Band is really a really great way to to work on your singing. More so than the other rock band games because it also includes harmonies.
When you drum on expert level you you have to hit every drum hit that is in the real recording! No, it’s not exactly like playing real drums, but it is close enough to be pretty effective practice. There have even been cases of people moving directly from Rock Band drums into playing a real drum set with barely a hitch in the transition.
I definitely recomend The Beatles Rock Band as an excellent buy for any real Beatles fan along with (obviously) The Beatles Remastered Box Sets & The Beatles USB.
