With the new expansion of Wrath of the Lich King to World of Warcraft, a lot of new content was introduced to players.  Among this new content was a new trade skill available to players called “inscription.”
This trade skill allows players to create glyphs for other players, which are permanent benefits that characters add onto themselves that further customize their play style in several different and unique ways.
How much material do you need for inscription?
Inscription, as with all the other trade skills, requires certain materials in order for you to create the series of glyphs necessary to acquire skill points.  The most common material needed is herbs, which are used to create the ink.  In addition to collecting materials, you will also have to acquire many of the recipes you will need on your own.  The only way to do this is to perform research, which can only be done once per day and requires its own materials.
This research in your only window to greater glyphs, and accessing all the benefits that comes with it.  This guide is meant to be used for the journey to skill level 450.  There are some very cost effective ways to take this journey, and doing so without the help of this guide could result in a huge waste of time and resources.  While we understand the desire to level your skill quickly, it is also wise to do it cost effectively.
If you run short of cash along the way, you can get more cash by selling some glyphs through auction. This will give you extra cash to continue running your work. Inscription helps a character to focus specifically on what he is working on by allowing the exclusive use of some skills to suit their style and function. The group superior and individual skills can be incorporated with this skill together with the new talent specialization option.
There are several obstacles that one must be aware of when deciding to venture into inscription as a career, including the astronomical price of herbs available on the server. Prices for these important commodities of trade are relatively high, especially at the time when demand has gone up in the market compared to supply, thus creating a shortage. At this time, the suppliers will take advantage and hike the prices. The prices are also sometimes directly affected by the fact that these herbs are greatly consumed in alchemy.
Learning how to sell your glyphs properly will be very important.  After all, what is a skill if you can’t make a profit out of it?  The best ways to do this are through the auction house if you are selling in small amounts.  If you are selling bulk, or you are looking to haggle, then your best choice is through the trade channel.  By using the trade channel, you are typically dealing with people that are more desperate for your services, and are willing to pay more.
