With not many good games released so far and after a little bit of a dry spell, I thought this post would make sense to ensure that people are aware of the upcoming games for the rest of the year.

There have only been a handful of great game releases so far, some of which include X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena but this is all about to pick up and the next few months are certainly something to get excited about as you will see below.

The first large release is the next game in the Guitar Hero series, Guitar Hero Metallica which is due for release in just a few days. If you love Metallica, metal or just love Guitar Hero you will want to get this game because it comes with an awesome setlist from Metallica and aroud 20 other artists.

Another release within the next few days is Terminator Salvation which is being released the same day as Guitar Hero Metallica. This game is based upon the storyline of the upcoming fouth Terminator film. It’s tricky to say if this will be a good game because it’s based upon the upcoming Terminator film meaning the quality of the game may not be very good because it’s a movie game.

Now, heading into the beginning of June, you can look forward to seeing some of the following:

The Sims 3, although I am not at all a fan of these games, no doubt this one will be massively popular and you can expect everything you love from the original games, aswell as a whole bundle of new features to discover.

The next game is Prototype, something slightly different with this one but hopefully it will be well made a fun to play. It would have been nice to get a demo of this game priar to release, however, this close to release date I don’t think we’ll be seeing one.

Batman Arkham Asylum, every Batman fan will be getting their hands on this game. The new Batman Arkham Asylum game looks awesome and hopefully we won’t be let down by quality. There is some worries about the release date of this game because there was some recent news that said the game was going to be delayed and the release date was changing from June, however, no new date has been released.

Planned to be released on the same day as Batman is yet another movie based game, Ghostbusters. There is some confusion about the release date of this one aswell be there was news that Sony had payed for an exclusive period but that is yet to be confirmed.

Into July we will see the release of the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince game which, just like Terminator Salvation, will be an unknown because as it’s a movie game, plus Harry Potter, the game quality may wobble. Although I’m positive that every Potter fan will want to get their hands on this game.

Now we get to some really good ones that are planned for release in the later part of the year and closer to Christmas. These include Dirt 2, the sequel to the amazingly popular Dirt game. Other games include Max Payne 3, another addition to the Rock Band series, The Beatles: Rock Band which also come with a range of brand new instruments. Other additions include Need for Speed Shift which is based on more realistic professional racing this time aswell as other games that include Bioshock 2, Bad Company 2 and finally Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

There are definately some games to get on the run up to Christmas and I don’t have any doubts that even more games will be announced as we get closer, especially considering Guitar Hero have 5 games planned for the near future.
