Becoming an Herbalist is one good way to make piles of Warcraft gold. In particular, there are three herbs that are very profitable to craft with. Why are these herbs so valuable? It turns out that they are key ingredients for producing potions that raiding parties depend on. That means there’s a big market for them and heavy demand, which translates into piles of gold for you.

Frost Lotus generally appears as a drop among other herbs you harvest in Northrend. You can’t specifically go out to harvest Frost Lotus (although there is one zone where it has its own nodes) and must instead find it by harvesting less-valuable herbs like Adder’s Tongue.

Lichbloom is used in the Runic Mana Potion as well as some of the most important flasks, making it highly sought after. While it can be found in most high-level areas of the game, nodes are the most prevalent in the Storm Peaks. Your character should be in the high 70′s before venturing here looking for Lichbloom.

Icethorn is found in the same general areas as Lichbloom. Remember that the Storm Peaks, which is the richest source of Icethorn, is unsafe for characters that are not in their high 70′s. Icethorn is used to make several important flasks and elixirs, as well as the oh-so-important Runic Mana Potions. You’ll easily be able to sell any Icethorn you manage to harvest.
